This week’s photo challenge is to share a photo that is or makes us feel harmonious.
Harmony can be “the combination of simultaneously sounded musical notes to produce a pleasing effect” or “the state of being in agreement or concord”.
My first thought when I saw the subject of the challenge, was of my 82 year old piano. As I’m typing this I’m listening to Child No 2 playing it and singing, voice and keys in perfect harmony.
I fell in love with this piano when I first heard it’s rich, beautiful sound. It’s old and has been repaired and lots of pieces have been replaced but the sound is full and rounded. I love opening it up so the sound can travel and I can watch the keys and little hammers and pads move, seemingly randomly yet magically producing melody and chords by a well planned process of strings and hammers attached to keys that transports me to a place of complete harmony.

My Fritz Kuhla piano (built around 1934)
Loved the photo even before I read the words. I’m going to link to it so that my readers can enjoy it too. Music is the best harmony!

Ek hou vreeslik baie daarvan.
