In response to The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Time.
Nature shows time in so many ways. To me weathered rocks or rock formations, mountains and sand (rock ground down over millennia) remind us of time and how much of it these rocks have seen.
Pancake rocks at Punakaiki, South Island of New Zealand
Weathered and washed away rocks near Parakeet Bay, Rottnest Island near Perth
Wave Rock, 14 metre high and about 110 metre long granite rock southeast of Perth, Western Australia
Weathered rocks with shells attached to them
Rocks and moss at a local beach near Perth
Namib Desert near Swakopmund Namibia, another favourite of mine. The Namib desert is believed to be the oldest in the world (around 55 million years old).
2000 year old Bushmen rock painting called “White Lady” at Brandberg, Namibia
Cape Point, Cape Town South Africa
Table Mountain, Cape Town South Africa, a personal favourite
Rock Finger in northwest Namibia measuring 35 metres tall and standing on a hill. It’s made of sandstone conglomerate and remained after the surrounding Ugab Terrace washed away thousands of years ago.
Tiny little rolled up balls of sand deposited on the beach by hermit crabs as they dig their holes on Cable Beach, Broome, northwest Australia
