This week’s photo challenge is to show opposites. Since it’s winter here at the moment and we have lots of rainy days I immediately thought of sunshine as opposed to clouds or rain. I love the drama of clouds rolling in, especially when the sun still partially shines on it, so I put together a little gallery of opposing sunshine and clouds/rain photos.
Sunny weather while a storm is rolling in
Sun bursting through the rainy clouds out at sea
Sun shining on the dark clouds
Dark clouds rolling in
Sunshine where I’m standing but clouds and rain over the ocean
Sunshine and rain fighting it out
More rainbows (a double one this time) on our way down Bluff Knoll
Clouds rolling in at Sorrento beach
Cloud iridescence in Etosha National Park, Namibia

Stunning shots all round. Really love the one where the sun is bursting out of the clouds, and the rainbow shots too. You got very luck there with those captures. Breathtaking. It is also winter here in Australia, and looks like we are having a cold one this week. Will be thinking of sunshine to warm me up 😀

Thanks Mabel, I was very lucky to be at the right place at the right time. Thanks for stopping by and nice to “meet” you. We’re in Perth – whereabouts are you?

It is great to meet you too, Christina. I’m from Melbourne. Currently we’re in the middle of winter and it’s been raining a lot. We could do with a bit of sunshine from Perth 🙂

It’s very cold here at the moment, even though we’ve had a few days of sunshine. At least we get to see some blue skies in between the rain, so I’m not complaining.

summer here – winter there, north – south: opposites. I never tire of looking at the ‘big sky.’ Thank you and enjoy the week ahead. It’s Monday where you are, Sunday where I am – another opposite. Peace.

Opposites but still the same – sky is sky isn’t it? Thanks Clay, peace to you too.

Lovely photos. It is true as Clay Watson says – winter here summer there, cold and hot. We did not have that much cold yet. Snowfields are hoping for some snow because the holidays start this weekend.

Thank you. My son is in Queenstown with friends at the moment. We haven’t heard from him a lot but they have done a bit of skiing.

They say if it doesn’t snow enough they fill it up with the snow machine! We expect cold weather the coming weekend!
